Fresh Brew – Coffee Shop Brand Identity

OVERVIEW

A new coffee shop needed a complete visual identity that could travel comfortably from packaging to storefront signage to digital platforms. The engagement produced a full brand system anchored by a simple, emotionally warm icon and a natural color palette suited to a modern, welcoming café.

THE CHALLENGE

The brand required a mark memorable enough to anchor recognition, yet simple enough to stay legible on cups, bags, and signage alike. The core difficulty was achieving genuine emotional warmth without tipping into visual clutter, while ensuring the system remained flexible enough for everyday retail use.

RESEARCH & STRATEGY

Research into successful café branding pointed toward simple recognizable icons, organic color palettes, rounded typography, and scalable logo systems. The strategy centered on a minimal coffee cup icon finished with heart-shaped steam, paired with an earthy brown-and-green palette that reads as authentic and premium rather than generic.

ART DIRECTION

The finished mark works in single-color, badge, and full lockup variations, supported by rounded, approachable typography and clean, consistent spacing. Earthy browns and a deep green accent keep the palette grounded in coffee culture while the heart-steam detail adds a distinctly human touch to an otherwise minimal line icon.

EXECUTION

The system was built out across a primary horizontal logo, a secondary icon badge, packaging applications for cups and coffee bags, and storefront signage mockups, with full color swatches documented for consistent reproduction. Every asset was prepared for both print production and digital use.

OUTCOME

The finished identity gives the café a welcoming, professional presence with the scalability to stay consistent from cup sleeve to storefront as the business grows.
